Owner, Crystal Murphy envisioned The Green Room as more than just a hair salon. It was to be an intimate space where modern flair meets the timeless allure of artistic sanctuaries. The challenge was to craft a visual identity that not only highlighted artistry and exclusivity but also made clients feel like insiders in an exclusive world. The Process: From Moodboards to Final Design
We began with a thorough understanding of the brand’s unique character, and we proposed three design directions:
Velvet Rebellion: A blend of 1920s speakeasy sophistication with punk energy.
Time Traveler’s Lounge: A vintage-modern fusion, inviting exploration.
Underground Rendezvous: Contemporary jazz club aesthetic with bold typography.
We presented moodboards to illustrate the visual and thematic elements of each design direction. This step was crucial in aligning our creative vision with Crystal’s expectations. Based on the moodboards, we presented three logo designs.
Crystal responded strongly to two of the directions and we saw an opportunity to combine her favorite elements from both. We merged the palette and line style of Velvet Rebellion with a relaxed version of the tiger from Underground Rendezvous, ensuring the lines complemented the font style.
Final Logo Design
The final logo features a lounging tiger paired with The Green Room word mark, perfectly capturing the sophisticated LA vibe and dynamic energy Crystal envisioned. The tiger adds a unique, memorable element that embodies The Green Room’s exclusive and artistic atmosphere.
